That's Amore! West Hartford Women's Chorale Concert

Inspired by the theme of That’s
Amore!,
the West Hartford Women’s Chorale will explore expressions of love in
music at their Spring Concert on Friday, June 13th. The Chorale will perform
musical pieces in a variety of styles all dealing with questions of the elusive
Amore. Musical selections will also feature
performers from I Giovani Solisti, an
ensemble comprised of talented string musicians from Hall and Conard High
Schools.

The Chorale performs two major concerts a year. Their Spring
Concert will be held June 13, 7:30 PM at Bristow Middle School, West Hartford.
Free will donations are accepted in lieu of tickets. Funds    collected are used to support an annual
scholarship for a graduating Hall or Conard High School senior who plans to
pursue music education.  This year’s
recipient is Alexandra Whitaker from Hall High School.  A reception to meet and greet the performers
will follow the concert.

 The Chorale, a
non-audition women’s group, is celebrating 10 years of performance and
involvement with the community. Beyond their two major concerts, each year the
Chorale performs at community benefits, including Celebrate!West Hartford.  This past March they hosted a Festival of
Women’s Voices, bringing together 5 women’s choirs who raised over 150 voices
to share the range and beauty of vocal music. The Festival raised funds to
support My Sister’s Place in Hartford.
