Watkinson School to host Creative Arts Open House
Watkinson School in Hartford will host a Creative Arts Open House designed to inform high school students with strong interests in any of six art forms—film, theater, visual art, music, writing, dance—and their parents about signature programs available at Watkinson School on Wednesday, January 29, at 6:30pm. The selective Creative Arts Program offers a combination of depth work in each art form with a broad exposure to cultural literacy, global arts, and patterns in the lives of creative people, along with some 30 master classes and field trips a year. Graduates of the program have gone on to active careers in film, television, music, poetry, publishing, museum design, graphic arts, and video games. Others have leveraged the skills gained in thinking outside the box, coupled with disciplined goal setting, to make careers in rocket science, engineering, medicine, and academia. Interested families should RSVP to Cathy Batson at Cathy_Batson@watkinson.org. Watkinson is Hartford’s oldest independent day school serving students in grades 6-12/PG.
