Ashaya Yoga and the Five Elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Sky

We are all made of the five elements. When these elements are balanced within, your heart opens and you feel wonderful. When out of balance, your heart closes and you can feel stuck or heavy (too much earth), overly emotional (too much water), irritable (too much fire), scattered and fearful (too much air), or spacey (too much sky). The Ashaya Yoga practice brings about a flowing integration of all five elements that leaves you feeling strong, confident, peaceful, open-hearted, and ready to engage with life in positive, uplifting ways.

During this workshop you will rebalance the five elements within your body and rediscover the true freedom and ecstasy that life is meant to be. Practice a powerful rainbow of grounding, flowing, mind-blowing, exhilarating, and expansive postures that bring you back home to your heart.

Friday, 1/10 6:30-9:00 p.m. Open Sky: Enjoy a spacious, heart-opening practice, including standing poses, backbends, hip openers, twists, and forward bends. Includes a sky meditation, deep relaxation, and kirtan.

Saturday, 1/11 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Rich Earth: Get grounded with a strong practice of asana, including standing poses, hip openers, handstand preps and refinements, and backbends.

Saturday, 1/11 2:00-4:30 p.m.: Delicious Water: Release into a sequence of flowing, soothing, and restorative poses, including hip openers, leg stretches, forward bends, and twists. End with pranayama, a water meditation, and kirtan chanting.

Sunday 1/12 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Bright Fire and Soothing Wind: Light up your practice and expand your heart with a constellation of transformative and uplifting poses that build power and core strength, including standing poses, hand balance preps and refinements, side stretches, leg stretches, hip openers, inversions, and backbends. Ends with a deep relaxation integrating all five elements.

Sunday 1/12 2:00-4:30 p.m. Ashaya Yoga Therapeutics For the Shoulders, Elbows, Wrists, and Neck: The shoulders are like the wings of the heart. When properly aligned, they free the heart to open and soar high above all self-limiting beliefs and concepts. During this workshop, you will discover the optimal position for your shoulders and neck. Through the application of the sophisticated and elegant alignment essentials of Ashaya Yoga, you will learn how to avoid injury and relieve chronic pain. This yoga really works! We'll look specifically at healing rotator cuff tears, winging shoulder blades, frozen and tight shoulders, biceps tendonitis, tennis elbow, tight trapezius muscles, stiff and sore neck, TMJ dysfunction, and common migraines. You will leave this workshop with tools, practices, and the knowledge to free yourself of pain and return to your natural state of ease and well-being.
