Join the fun for A Child’s World, the 15th Annual Gala for The Children’s Museum

Rediscover your inner child at The Children’s Museum’s 15th annual gala, A Child’s World, on Saturday, April 30 at 6:00pm at Tumble Brook Country Club, 376 Simsbury Road in Bloomfield. Led this year by Pioneer Sponsors LAZ Parking and Farmington Bank, the event is the Museum’s largest annual fundraiser. Alan Lazowski of LAZ Parking is chair of the honorary gala committee.

This unique gala offers entertainment geared toward bringing out the inner child in all of us. The popular Science Fair Midway demonstrations showcase the various educational programs and activities of the museum. Residents of the Wildlife Sanctuary will greet and mingle among the guests. Face painting, star gazing and a live auction with celebrity emcees Laurie Perez and Jim Altman of FoxCT add to the lighthearted evening featuring specialty cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and dinner themed to A Child’s World.

“We’re very excited about the unusual offerings for the live auction this year,” said Dr. Rick Liftig, Board Chair of The Children’s Museum. “From an African photo safari to a trip to the wine region of Provence, France, to a luxury box for a UConn football game, to a gorgeous amethyst and diamond necklace, between the live and silent auctions we really have something for everyone.”

All funds raised support science and nature education and outreach programs. “This is the most important fundraising activity of the year for The Children’s Museum, which provides an exceptional learning experience for children throughout the state,” Liftig continued. “We are an invaluable resource for kids and their families, schools, Boys and Girls Clubs, groups serving under-privileged youth, and many other organizations. The money raised this evening enables us to continue this vital educational programming both in the Museum and in classrooms across Connecticut.”
