Tips for Better Parenting at the Mandell JCC’s 4th Annual Parenting Conference, Sunday, April 29, 2012

Get an edge on parenting with great tips about children of all ages at the Mandell JCC’s 4th Annual Parenting Conference, presented by The Family Room Parenting Center, on Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Herbert Gilman Theater at the Mandell JCC, Zachs Campus, 335 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford, CT. According to Committee Chair, Meryl Braunstein, the conference is an exceptional opportunity to learn, share and grow.

This year the Parenting Conference hosts two experts who will address the challenges of ‘brat proofing’ children, and helping them navigate through a world filled with temptations and distractions, while dealing with everyday challenges. The conference will feature a preschool and elementary school segment with author and child development and behavior specialist, Betsy Brown Braun from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and a tweens and teens segment with author Dr. Anthony E. Wolf from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Both experts will be featured as key-note speakers and sign books following their segments.

Betsy Brown Braun provides parents with hands-on straightforward advice for parenting. She is hailed by The New York Times as a “parenting guru” and wrote the best-selling, award-winning books Just Tell Me What to Say and You’re not the Boss of Me. She also founded Parenting PathwaysÒ, Inc. to provide guidance and information for parents.

Dr. Anthony E. Wolf is a practicing child psychologist and author of numerous parenting books, including his recently published I’d Listen to My Parents if They’d Just Shut Up. His bestseller, Get Out of My Life, But First Could You Drive Me and Cheryl to the Mall? A Parents’ Guide to the New Teenager, sold over 500,000 copies and is the most widely acclaimed parenting book for teens in the country.
