WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Hartford Department of Athletics held its first in a series of three multi-sport clinics on Friday, welcoming more than 125 youth to the West Hartford campus. Participants had the opportunity to try their hand at seven different sports, basketball, baseball, softball, track and field, lacrosse, tennis and soccer.

The clinic, which was held in partnership with 2-4-1 Sports Academy, began at 5 p.m. on Friday prior to the men's soccer team's thrilling 3-2 overtime victory over the Harvard Crimson. Members of Hartford's Division I teams, along with head coaches, taught youth fundamentals of each sport as groups rotated between each of the seven disciplines.

"This promises to be a long relationship with many multi-sport clinics in our future," says Steve Boyle, 2-4-1 director. "A big thank you to Jen Rizzoti and all of the UHart coaches and athletes who made this magical night possible. The recognition of the benefit of playing multiple sports is just the kind of message these young athletes need to hear."
