HULAFROG'S WEEKEND GUIDE
Each Monday when I gather this list together I feel so lucky to live in an area that offers so many incredible kid friendly and family friendly activities. How lucky are we?! This weekend is no exception and spring fun is in full swing with a ton of great events from Farm Day at Westmoor Park, to Touch A Truck at the Mandell JCC, festivals, free concerts, musicals and more!
FRIDAY:
Potted Potter at The Bushnell
Check out this award winning performance and enjoy 70 minutes of hilarious Harry Potter fun. This show is selling out all over the world. Even if you’re not a Harry Potter pro this performance will have you roaring with laughter! Perfect for ages 6 to Dumbledore (who is very old indeed!).

Cute Kids Consignment Sale
Spring has sprung and summer is just around the corner! Could your little one's wardrobe use a little lift? Perhaps they've sprouted a size (or two) and could use some new warm weather wear. Or maybe you need to stock up on some new baby gear, toys, or trikes? Cute Kids Consignment Sale is a one-stop shop for all your little one's needs, offering high quality, used merchandise (with lots of new items too!).

The Wizard of Oz by Connecticut Family Theatre
Take your little guy or gal to enjoy this all time classic! They're sure to be captivated (and inspired) by watching this young and talented crew command the stage. Come join Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, the Cowardly Lion and Toto as they travel to a place beyond the sun, just a step beyond the rain. The Little Mermaid by Newington Children’s Theatre Company
With a cast of over thirty area children, ages 5-14, this Disney classic is sure to delight the kid in all of us! Your little ones will be mesmerized watching Ariel and her friends come to life on stage!

Farm Day at Westmoor Park
Come out to Westmoor Park for a family event featuring farm activities for all ages. They’ll be baby animals (two new baby lambs just recently born!), hayrides, demonstrations, games and more.

Touch A Truck West Hartford
Grab your little truck lover and take them to explore the real deal! The Department of Public Works in West Hartford will be holding their annual Open House this Saturday which will feature a Touch A Truck event! Adults, you can learn the ins and outs of disposing garbage (and with kids, we know there's a little extra!) while the kiddos have a blast.

Shad Derby 40th Anniversary Parade and Festivities
Come on out for a full day of family fun. Festivities include games, crafts, and food. We recommend getting there early to get a space on the green as the parade begins at 12:30! (You can also call to reserve a spot for a small fee). Where: Windsor Center, Windsor (on the town green)

Vintage Baseball Game
Take your little slugger out for a real old-fashioned ball game! Presented by the Friends of Vintage Baseball. Bring your lawn chairs, blanket, picnic lunch and sunscreen...and they’ll supply the fun! The first game is played following the 1865 rules and the second follows rules from 1861. That's right, they mean vintage! FREE parking and FREE admission.

Parent’s Night Out at the JCC
It may be called Parent's Night Out, but let's be honest...it's really for the kids! Drop off your children for a fun night of dinner, games, crafts and more! Note: pre registration required by Thursday, May 16th. Please call member services to register 860-236-4571.

West Harford Farmer’s Market
Nothing says spring & summer like local fresh fruits and veggies. The West Hartford Farmer’s Market is in full swing with Farmers and other local businesses selling plants, produce, cheeses, flowers, eggs, meats, prepared foods, and other seasonal offerings.

Parent’s Night Out at Generation Y
Who needs a babysitter when you’ve got Generation Y on your team? Enjoy a night out on the town while your kiddos have a blast too. They’ll get to play games, watch a movie, eat dinner and have FUN!

Take your tiny dancer out for an evening musical event! The Brian Jarvis Band will give a FREE concert at Blue Back Square from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Grab and ice cream (or yogurt), swing by and enjoy!

Touch A Truck
Do you have a tiny truck lover at home? Take ‘em to Touch A Truck this weekend at the Mandell JCC. Children and tots can climb into trucks for a real hands on experience. There will also be a “no honk” time out of respect for the special needs community between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m. Noted, rain or shine this family fun is happening!

Hartford’s First Annual Bike Fest Wheel Fun Day
Enjoy some serious bicycling fun at its best! The event starts with a group ride down Main Street ending at Town Hall. There you’ll encounter endless festivities including live music, bike stunt performers (your bitty biker will be in awe!), a juggler on a unicycle, bicycle decorating, safety classes, a big wheel race, and a scavenger hunt.
