Recognizing many parents’ concerns about the inherent risks of the Internet, Kingswood Oxford is sponsoring a program that will offer insights and tips about how to keep families safe online.
Scott Driscoll of Internet Safety Concepts will speak on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 7pm in KO’s Roberts Theater. The event, which is sponsored by KO’s Parent Education Committee, is open to all parents and free of charge.
“I started Internet Safety Concepts after seeing, in my 24 years in law enforcement, how dangerous the Internet and technology can be,” said Driscoll. “With education, we can learn how to stay safe.
“The Internet can be a fun and educational place,” he continued, “but if not used properly or with safety in mind, it can lead to some very serious and dangerous situations.”
Driscoll is the co-author of R U In Danger.net, a guide for families and educators about the dangers lurking on the Internet and precautionary steps to take.
