KO Musicians Earn Regional Honors; Three Named to All State Ensemble

More than a dozen Middle and Upper School music students at Kingswood Oxford were recently honored by the Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA), and three of these were then named to the CMEA’s prestigious All State Ensemble.

Five Middle School students were accepted into the North Regional Music Festival: Jonathan Fu ’19 and Ethan Levinbook ’20 (orchestra), Harim Hahn ’20 and Nat Bates ’18 (band), and Sydni Scott ’18 (chorus).

In the Upper School,  nine students were accepted into the North Regional Music Festival: Lina Volin '15, Lindsey Paszczuk '15, Cole Adams '15, and Noah Hawks-Ladds ’17 (band); Collin Brantner '14, Nick Giamalis '16, Daniel Melody '15, and Sam Wiseman ’14 (orchestra); and Matthew Guerrera ’15 (chorus).

Volin and Giamalis, both of Glastonbury, and Melody of West Hartford were chosen for the All State ensemble. They will gather on Apr. 3 with other outstanding musicians from throughout the state for three days of practice before the culminating All State Festival Concert at the Bushnell in Hartford on Apr. 5.
