Two Kingswood Oxford Football Players Named All-New England

Dante Cioffi ’14 and Isaiah Wright ’16, standout members of Kingswood Oxford’s championship football team, have been named to the Class C All-New England team by the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC).

Cioffi, KO’s quarterback, is the son of Michael and Kathryn Cioffi of Monroe. He threw 24 touchdowns and had 2,091 passing yards during the Wyverns’ eight-game season, which ended with a 6-2 record and a share of the Fairchester league title – the first in school history.

“Dante was the heart and soul of our football team, and he will be sorely missed,” said KO Head Football Coach Jason Martinez. “Words cannot express how grateful I am for all the sacrifices Dante has made for our program.”

Wright, a wide receiver, is the son of Nina Wright and Randy Smith of Waterbury. He had the most receiving yards (1,118) in the entire NEPSAC. He also had 16 touchdowns. “These are amazing numbers, considering that we play only eight games and Isaiah is only a sophomore,” said Martinez.
