Where are our next generation of Artisans

Get them to use their left brain

Having been the owner of The Beadoir Inc. for over 18 years, I have seen some negative changes over the past few years.  I am wondering how to correct them.  I was very disappointed in the closing of the BumbleBug, art classes and activities for children.  Without all the particulars I can't comment on the why of it, but I perceive it as a loss for the community and the arts in general.

Whereas my store always attracted an older clientele, I could always count on a significant number of parents and their children coming in before holidays or birthdays to create a handmade present.  Is it really true that sitting in front of the ipad or Android, texting away, is a significant part of the problem.

Parents, please get your young ones into doing activities that aid their eye/hand coordination, creative skills and even math skills.

All responses welcome
