Glenna S. Bernard, 83; Town Resident Who Love Spending Time with Her Grandchildren

Glenna S. Bernard, 83, died July 1, 2014 at home in West Hartford surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Marshall and Marguerite Slattery.

Glenna was the beloved wife of 58 years to Richard C. Bernard.

Glenna is survived by her daughter, Marie B. Miszewski and her husband Mitchell, son Richard S. Bernard and his wife Erika Compton and son, Michael D. Bernard and his wife Tracy; two sisters, Jane Griffin and Marian Wynne; four grandchildren, Craig and Erika Miszewski and Ian and Brianna Bernard; and many nieces and nephews.

Glenna was also predeceased by her sons Stephen and Thomas, and her brothers, John and Joseph Slattery.

She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Family was always important to Glenna and she especially loved being with her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 8, departing at 9:30 a.m. from the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave. West Hartford, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 872 Farmington Ave. West Hartford. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford.

Calling hours will be Monday, July 7, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Molloy.
