CitySingers Presents Eastern Light This Weekend

CitySingers of Hartford will present  Eastern Light at 3:45PM--this coming Saturday in New Britain at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 147 West Main Street, and Sunday in West Hartford at St. John's Episcopal Church, 679 Farmington Avenue.  A voluntary offering will be gratefully received.

Eastern Light's music displays a prism of tonal colors, textures, harmonies and texts, that span from the earliest Eastern chant through 21st century works.  Many musical tongues, from Eastern and Western Europe, the British Isles, Japan and America by Ludwig Van Beethoven, William Byrd, Ko Matsushita, Eric Whitacre, and Paul Halley express the universal gift of light.

The renowned New York City string ensemble, Sebastian Chamber Players will offer 15 minutes of pre-concert music, and will accompany in the program, along with other concert artists playing piano, pipe organ, flute, trumpet, and percussion to fill listeners with the energy and joy of light.
