Helicopter parents.
You've heard the term applied to just about everything, from playgrounds to college admissions, even job interviews. Parents who just can't seem to let their children fend for themselves. Or lose.
Now Easter egg hunts?
This NPR story caught our eye. It reports that a major Easter egg hunt in Colorado was canceled this year because parents — not the Terrible Twos, but parents — were just too aggressive.
As one unapologetic local resident told NPR:
"You have all these eggs just lying around, and parents helping out. You better believe I'm going to help my kid get one of those eggs. I promised my kid an Easter egg hunt and I'd want to give him an even edge."
