Help Us Name Five Great Books for Adults and Children

Answer this week's question, and we'll list the top choices in Thursday's edition of Patch Picks.

Wednesday is the National Education Association's Read Across America Day, which is celebrated on the birthday of Theodor Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss.

Across the state and the nation, celebrities, elected officials, parents and teachers will be reading out loud to children in our classrooms. Among the many volunteers, State Sen. Beth Bye, D-West Hartford, will read to kindergarten and pre-kindergarten students at the .

So in the spirit of encouraging reading, we'd like to hear about your favorite books for adults and children. Classic or contemporary, picture books or historical tomes, all suggestions are welcome. Please post them in the comment box below.

In Thursday's Patch Picks, we'll list the top five answers for adults and the top five for children, with a few suggestions of our own.

Hi Barbara, We are so sorry this happened. Last night we added 200 sites to our great new BetaRead More platform and we think that made our newsletter server go haywire. Our engineers are hard at work to fix this bug and we are hopeful that things will be much smoother on Thursday.
