Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters' November 15th "Start Something Big" Gala Almost Sold Out.

Thanks to unprecedented response from friends and supporters, the 2013 "Start Something Big" Gala, the major event held each year by Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters - Connecticut's premier youth mentoring organization - is very close to being sold out.

"It's true," said Andy Fleischmann, Nutmeg's President and CEO, "and we're extremely grateful. Our Board, our staff and our Gala Committee have pulled out all the stops to make our 'Start Something Big' Gala a bigger success than ever before, and it looks as if their efforts have paid off. The majority of sponsorships are now spoken for, there are only a handful of tickets still available, and our tables are almost filled to capacity."

The Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters' "Start Something Big" Gala is being held on Friday, November 15th at the Hartford Golf Club in West Hartford. Chairman of the much-anticipated event is Andy Bessette, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of The Travelers Companies. Master of Ceremonies will be WFSB-TV meteorologist Scot Haney, who for the past nine years has been named "Best News Personality In Connecticut" in a Hartford Advocate readers' poll.

Attendees at the "Start Something Big" Gala will enjoy world-class food and drinks, an eclectic mix of event-goers, and an evening packed with fun and surprises. These include an opening coctail hour with a jazz trio accompaniment, a silent auction stocked with tempting items, a photo booth, an espresso bar, and an exciting live auction presided over by the always funny and dependably unpredictable Scot Haney.

"It's not too late to help support Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters and its mission of positively changing the lives of children in need," said Andy Fleischmann. "Those interested should get in touch with us to inquire about remaining sponsorships and tickets for the Nov. 15th Gala. If we run out of room, we will also be making available, for a limited time, the opportunity to purchase sponsorships and tickets to next year's Gala at this year's prices. And, of course, people can always visit our website (below) and click on the 'Donor' button to support taking more great children off our waiting list."
