West Hartford Resident Placed at 10th Annual MxCC Scholarship Road Race
The results are in for the tenth annual MxCC $cholarship Road Race, held on Saturday, October 26 at Middlesex Community College. West Hartford resident and MxCC Dean of Students Adrienne Maslin came in third place for her age division with a time of 36:54.
Douglas Roth of Manchester (39:50) and Laura Nelson of Vernon Rockville (47:10) won the men’s and women’s championships respectively for the 10K and Jeffrey McDermott (18:06) of Avon and Emily Sienna of Moodus (21:38) won the men’s and women’s championships respectively for the 5K.
Runners and walkers, spectators and supporters gathered on campus for the 10K race, 5K race, and a family-friendly 4K walk, and visited the “tent city” of exhibit booths by sponsors. Over 200 people ran and walked in the race. The event, which benefits student scholarships and programs at MxCC, raised more than $14,000 in total support this year. A portion of this total will be donated toward program enhancements to the radiologic technologist program at MxCC in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
