Arrests This Week Include Cell Phone Use While Driving and Risk of Injury to Minors

Police arrest log for June 13-19, 2011. The following arrest information was supplied by the West Hartford Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

West Hartford: Alexander T. Dyson, 18, no address given, West Hartford, was charged with third-degree larceny and sixth-degree larceny on June 13. Police said he was arrested at court on a warrant for larceny. No bond was set.

Shield Street: Keon Starks, 32, 16 Morris Street, Hartford, was charged with violation of probation on June 13. Police said following a motor vehicle stop, he was found to have a warrant for violation of probation. Bond was set at $10,000.

West Hartford: Thomas Wilfred, 53, 1045 Ward Street, Hartford, was charged with being a fugitive from justice on June 13. Bond was set at $250,000.

122 Hillcrest Avenue: LaToya Tomblinson, 30, 122 Hillcrest Avenue Apt. C, was charged with injury/risk/impairing morals of a minor on June 14. Police said she was arrested after it was determined her nine-year-old daughter was left home alone while the accused was at work. Bond was set at $5,000.

1445 New Britain Avenue: Dario Rivera, 47, 58 Belden Street, Hartford, was charged with one count of sixth-degree larceny and third-degree robbery on June 14. Police said he was arrested for shoplifting at Sears. While Loss Prevention stopped him, he physically resisted, police said. Bond was set at $10,000.

Prospect Avenue/Kane Street: Jonathan Fonseca, 24, 171 Lillian Road, Bristol, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while using a cell phone, illegal possession of marijuana and operating with registration/license/suspended/revoked on June 14. Bond was set at $500.

New Britain Avenue/New Park Avenue: Terrence A. Slattery, 54, no address given, was charged with first-degree failure to appear on June 14. According to police, he was seen going through dumpsters on New Britain Avenue and was found to have an arrest warrant for second-degree failure to appear. Bond was set at $25,000.

West Hartford: Gezim B. Demaj, 29, 54 Midfield Drive Apt.A6, Waterbury, was charged with failure to have head lamps and operating while under the influence on June 14. Police said he was stopped for having a headlight out and failed field sobriety tests. Bond was set at $500.

103 Raymond Road: Carlo F. Kernizan, 21, 251 Elmont Road Apt. 2, Elmont, NY, was charged with second-degree hindering prosecution and interfering with an officer on June 15. Police said he was arrested after posing as someone else in order to see if the other person had an arrest warrant. Police said he admitted he was not who he said he was after being told there was a valid arrest warrant. Bond was set at $1,000.

99 Bentwood Road: James H. Warner, 18, 99 Bentwood Road, was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening on June 15. Police said he was arrested following a domestic disturbance with his father and for threatening his father. Bond was set at $5,000.

West Hartford: Thomas Dangonini, 41, 251 Heights Drive, Torrington, was charged with first-degree failure to appear on June 15. Police said he was arrested on a valid warrant from a 2008 case from the Hartford Police Department. Bond was set at $20,000.

West Hartford: Thomas Smith, 28, 28 Park Place Apt. 28, New Britain, was charged with illegal possession on June 15. Police said following a motor vehicle stop, he was arrested for narcotics possession. Bond was set at $5,000.

West Hartford: Gary Barber, 49, 28 Park Place, New Britain, was charged with failure to display plate/sticker, illegal possession and possession of drug paraphernalia on June 15. Police said following a motor vehicle stop, he was arrested for narcotics possession. Bond was set at $7,500.

West Hartford: John Cronin, 68, 18 Bainton Road, was charged with failure to have lights lit/devices illuminated, operating with registration/license/suspended/revoked and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence on June 15. Bond was set at $10,000.

New Britain Avenue/South Street: Jayson D. Percy, 27, 27 Magnolia Street, Hartford, was charged with failure to display plate/sticker, illegal possession of marijuana, no insurance, operating with registration/license/suspended/revoked and operating an unregistered motor vehicle on June 16. Bond was set at $1,000.

West Hartford: David LaChance, 30, 220 Park Road, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct on June 16. Police said he was arrested after a domestic disturbance. The victim stated he placed her in a headlock over a verbal argument about borrowed money. Bond was set at $5,000.

West Hartford: Carmelo Santiago, 38, 1660 Main Street Apt. 28, Hartford, was charged with fifth-degree larceny and two counts of sixth-degree larceny on June 16. Police said he shoplifted at Macy’s, Sears and Sephora. Bond was set at $5,000.

1500 New Britain Avenue: Luz Diaz, 38, 45 Belden Street, Apt. 2A, Hartford, was charged with fifth-degree larceny and two counts of sixth-degree larceny on June 16. Police said she shoplifted from Sears and Macy’s. Bond was set at $5,000.

West Hartford: Antonio Rodriguez Jr., 20, 78 Englewood Avenue, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct on June 16. Police said he was arrested following a fight. Bond was set at $7,500.

45 Layton Street: Richard Hernandez, 27, 45 Layton Street, was charged with injury/risk/impairing morals of a minor on June 16. Police said he was arrested for risk of injury after a child was found outside of the home. No bond was set.

45 Layton Street: Sheila Hernandez, 25, 45 Layton Street, was charged with injury/risk/impairing morals of a minor on June 16. Police said officers were dispatched to the area after receiving a report of a young child walking around the area with just a diaper. The child was located, and the accused was found sleeping in her room, said police. No bond was set.

West Hartford: Bryan C. Rouse, 23, 834 Farmington Avenue Apt.C1, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while using a cell phone, failure to drive in proper lane and operating while under the influence on June 17. Bond was set at $500.

New Britain Avenue/Somerset Street: Andrew Nieves, 24, 44 Brittney Farms Road, New Britain, was charged with illegal possession of a hallucigen on June 17. Police said he was found to be in possession of PCP. Bond was set at $2,500.

103 Raymond Road: Timothy P. Perez, 28, 25 Jackson Avenue, was charged with second-degree breach of peace and injury/risk/impairing morals of a minor on June 17. Police said he was arrested after being involved in a disturbance at his residence. Bond was set at $1,000.

West Hartford: Carl Geffrard, 26, 34 White Rock Drive, Windsor, was charged with failure to drive in proper lane and operating while under the influence on June 18. Police said he was arrested after a routine motor vehicle stop for driving over the double yellow lines on New Britain Avenue and then failed a field sobriety test. Bond was set at $1,000.

Park Road/Gifford Road: Salvatore Morello, 32, 70 Home Avenue Apt. B, Middletown, was charged with failure to drive in proper lane, illegal possession of a hallucigen and operating while under the influence on June 18. Police said he was driving in between two lanes of travel at one mph. He was stopped, and found to be driving under the influence of PCP and was in possession of two bags of PCP. Bond was set at $10,000.

711 Farmington Avenue: Abebe Dires, 40, 711 Farmington Avenue B11, was charged with injury/risk/impairing morals of a minor on June 18. Police said he was arrested after officers responded to a 9-1-1 hang up and found two small children home alone. Bond was set at $5,000.

South Main Street/Ledgewood Road: Robert E. Snyder, 27, 200 Blakeslee Street, Bristol, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while using a cell phone and operating while under the influence on June 19. Bond was set at $500. Police said following a traffic stop, he was arrested for DUI.

331 South Street, Hartford: Johnathon Mitchell, 23, 551 East Main Street, Bristol, was charged with failure to keep drug in original container, illegal possession of marijuana and second-degree violation of conditional release on June 19. Bond was set at $15,000.
