Bristol Man Charged in Alleged Reservoir Hit-And-Run

Suspect was allegedly driving while under suspension; pedestrian sustained minor injuries.

A Bristol man suspected in a hit-and-run accident near Reservoir 1 on Farmington Avenue faced multiple charges after he was involved in a second crash in Farmington, police said.

Angelo C. Wimbush, 21, of 128 Shawn Drive was allegedly driving with a suspended license in a black SUV that struck a pedestrian shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday in an area of Farmington Avenue between Buena Vista Road and Cassandra Boulevard, police said.

Wimbush then fled the accident in a 2007 Nissan Murano that struck another vehicle just across the town line in Farmington, police said. The Murano flipped over a guardrail and into a ditch, police said.

Farmington police were expected to charge Wimbush with driving while intoxicated.

Wimbush was also arrested in Farmington Aug. 14 and charged with DUI, possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana and failure to drive in the proper lane, according to court records.

Wimbush, who also was arrested in July by Hartford police on gun charges, was scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court Nov. 10 to the hit-and-run charges.
