Car Crashes into Kane Street Apartment

Incident occurred Thursday evening.

The occupant of an apartment on Kane Street had an unexpected visitor Thursday night when a vehicle crashed through the windows of the ground floor unit.

The West Hartford Fire Department responded to a report at 9:29 p.m. Thursday about a car being driven into a building at 100 Kane Street. Two large windows in unit A7 were completely destroyed and a brick pillar was pushed into the unit, fire officials said. The occupant had been sitting on a living room sofa when the incident occurred, according to the fire department.

Fire officials said that there were no reported injuries as a result of the incident.

The building was checked by Fire Department personnel and power was shut down to the unit. The West Hartford Building Division has inspected the damage to the structure, and the area has been secured, fire officials said in a release.
