Continuance in Teen Sexual Assault Case

Suspect scheduled to return to Superior Court April 23.

The case against a 41-year-old man accused of sexual assault involving a young teen-age girl from West Hartford was continued Monday in Hartford Superior Court.

Jorge L. Torres has not entered a plea to charges of second-degree sexual assault and impairing the morals of a minor. He was scheduled to return to court April 23.

Feb. 27 by . In court papers, Torres had addresses at 34 Gerthmere Drive in West Hartford and in Wethersfield.

Police said the victim was 13-years-old and Torres was 38 when the alleged sexual encounters began in late 2008. The victim told police she ended the relationship around her 15th birthday in 2010.
