Fire at Blue Back Square Quickly Extinguished

West Hartford Fire Department says fire is considered suspicious and is being investigated.

The responded to a fire at 65 Memorial Road in at 6:11 p.m. Friday. According to a report from Battalion Chief Matt Stuart, the fire started in a third-floor storage closet and was extinguished in approximately 15 minutes. Stuart said that the buiding's sprinkler system was activated and "kept the fire in check until the fire department arrived."

The third-floor area where the fire originated sustained smoke and water damage. There was also water damage to lower floors, and fire department personnel assisted in salvage operations.

Stuart reported that the fire is considered suspicious and is under investigation by the West Hartford Fire Department and the .
