Fire Damages Bedroom of Pelham Road Home

Sunday morning fire temporarily displaces residents of a group home.

The West Hartford Fire Department is investigating the cause of a Sunday morning fire that damaged a bedroom at a group home for developmentally disabled adults at 33 Pelham Rd..

"We are just starting the investigation," said Asst. Chief Mike Sinsigalli, who was at the scene.

According to Sinsigalli, there were approximately six occupants in the home at the time the fire started, but no injuries were reported. Damage was confined to a bedroom.

The premises are being cleaned, and there is no word about whether it will be able to be occupied later today.

The fire was reported at 11:19 a.m., and several West Hartford fire companies responded.
