Important Alert From Town of West Hartford

Due to high wind warnings, the Department of Public Works is asking residents not to put their trash barrels out until early tomorrow morning.

Director of Public Works John Phillips issued an alert Tuesday afternoon to all residents in the Wednesday trash and recycling collection area.

Phillips advised the following: "Due to the high winds that are expected overnight, please do not put your automated refuse and recycling barrels at the curb tonight; please wait until Wednesday morning at 6 a.m."

The Department of Public Works has also requested that Paine's Refuse & Recycling place emptied barrels as far back from the curb line as possible to prevent them from blowing into the street.
