On Saturday, Horlman was released from jail in Hartford after posting $125,000 bail in connection with a . Arrest records for Horlman indicated at least three violent incidents with the woman in a periodic three-year relationship.

On Tuesday, West Hartford police said Horlman returned to the woman’s Newington Road home and forced his way into her car as she arrived in her driveway. He punched her several times in the head and drove away, threatening to crash the car and kill both of them, police said.

The victim was able to escape and ask for help at Empire Pizza on New Britain Avenue after Horlman stopped to get cigarettes, police said.

The victim was taken to UConn Medical Center for possible head injuries.

Horlman was previously accused of holding the 30-old woman against her will in her apartment on July 10, strangling and threatening to kill her, police said. The altercation flared from July 8-10, police said.

Horlman appeared July 11 in Superior Court on nine charges, including unlawful restraint, strangulation, burglary and violating a protective order. Judge Dawne G. Westbrook reduced his initial bail from $250,000.

Westbrook also moved the case to Part A of the criminal division, reserved for the state’s most serious cases.

The victim received a protection order against Horlman in September after a domestic incident on Charter Oak Place in Hartford. Hartford police said Horlman became abusive after she tried to break off a sporadic two-and-half year relationship.
