Man Charged with 95 Counts of Using Stolen Credit Card

The suspect was charged by West Hartford Police after a motor vehicle stop in Hartford.

An East Hartford man was charged Friday in connection with fraudulently using a credit card number obtained from a customer, 95 times.

According to West Hartford Police, Tyrone Grice, 48, a cab driver for ACE Taxi Service, copied a credit card number from a customer in February 2013. Police said that in subsequent months Grice continued to use the credit card number for "all kinds of purchases."

He was apprehended by Hartford Police on Friday after a motor vehicle stop, police said.

Grice was charged with 95 counts of illegal use of credit card, seven counts of second-degree forgery, first-degree identity theft, and second-degree larceny. He was held on $200,000 surety bond.
