Missing West Hartford 3-Year Old Found in Yard

West Hartford Police quickly found the three-year-old who disappeared from his home Tuesday morning.

West Hartford Police searched the Auburn Road area Tuesday morning after the mother of a 3-year-old boy reported him missing.

The mother, who was identified in the Hartford Courant as Miracle Balsitis, reported that her son, Silas Balsitis, had apparently walked out of the house through an open door.

West Hartford Police said that more than 12 officers were dispatched to the area, including a K9 unit. The West Hartford Fire Department was also called in to assist, police said. Nearby residents also received a West Hartford Advisory Alert sent out through the EverBridge Emergency Advisories Program.

According to police, the entire area was searched and boy was found within about 20 minutes – hiding in the bushes in front of his home on Auburn Rd.

A missing child is every parent's worst nightmare, but in this case the story had a happy ending.

"It all ended well," West Hartford Police Capt. Jeff Rose said Tuesday.
