Police Charge Man With Theft Of Funds From Grants, Bricco

Massachusetts man charged with larceny in connection with embezzlement from two West Hartford restaurants and a Glastonbury restaurant over an 11-month period.

West Hartford Police have charged a former director of operations in connection with the theft of monies from several local restaurants, including Grants and Restaurant Bricco.

Christian Lindberg, 41, of 731 Mount Hope St., North Attleboro, MA, turned himself in to West Hartford Police Wednesday morning on an outstanding warrant.

Police say that Lindberg, who worked as director of operations for the Billy Grant Restaurant Group, "peculated" – embezzled – funds totalling $52,228 from three restaurants between Sept. 2011 and Aug. 2012. In addition to Grants and Restaurant Bricco in West Hartford, funds were also embezzled from Bricco Trattoria in Glastonbury, police said.

The arrest followed an investigation by West Hartford Police after a complaint was filed by Grants.

Lindberg has been charged with first-degree larceny and is free on $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 1.
