[Update] Police: Man Sought for Kidnapping Apprehended

Derronn Horlman was recently released from prison after posting bail for charges involving the same woman.

Derron Horlman has been apprehended and is now in custody, according to West Hartford Police.

are still searching for a 23-year-old Bridgeport man who allegedly beat and kidnapped his girlfriend from her Newington Road home.

Officer Grant of the West Hartford Police Department said that Derronn Horlman is still on the loose. People should use caution when dealing with Horlman because he is known to be dangerous, police said.

According to a report in the Hartford Courant, Horlman, who was released Saturday from jail after posting bond for an involving the same woman, went to the victim’s house on Newington Road and forced his way into her car as she drove into her driveway.

According to the Courant, Horlman removed the keys from the car’s ignition, punched the victim several times in the head and face, smashed her cell phone, forced her into the passenger seat, and sped away. He allegedly told her that he would drive off the road and kill them both.

The victim was able to escape from the vehicle when Horlman stopped to buy cigarettes. She was taken by ambulance to John Dempsey Hospital after complaining of head pain. According to the reported story, the car was returned to the victim’s home by Horlman.

Police are seeking an arrest warrant for Horlman on charges of first-degree kidnapping, first-degree stalking, second-degree unlawful restraint, third-degree robbery, third-degree assault, criminal violation of a protective order, second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree larceny and interfering with a 911 call.

Horlman is described as a black male with brown eyes and black hair. He is about 5-foot-11 and 178 pounds. According to the Courant, he also has an active arrest warrant for violation of probation and criminal mischief.
