Police: Four Dead in Manchester Suspected Murder/Suicide

Four people are dead from gunshot wounds as a result of an incident that occurred at the Dye House Apartments on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013.

Four people were dead as a result of gunshot wounds after a late night incident at the Dye House Apartments on Pine Street on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, according to police, including the suspected shooter who turned the gun on himself as officers arrived to the scene.

According to Manchester Police Capt. Christopher Davis, police responded to a report of multiple gunshots at the Dye House Apartments at 190 Pine St. at approximately 9:40 p.m. Davis said police arrived within two minutes to find an unidentified man exiting the building holding a 13-month old child.

Davis said the suspect then put the child down after a "very brief confrontation with officers" and shot himself. An officer fired a shot at the suspect, Davis said, but it did not hit him.

Officers then entered the apartment complex and found three unidentified women dead from gunshot wounds.

The incident remains under investigation by the Manchester Police Department, the Hartford State's Attorney's Office and the Connecticut State Police Central District's Major Crimes Squad.

Davis said police will not release any additional details about the incident on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, including the victims identities.
