Teen in a "stupor state" after buying drug-laced treat.

What was supposed to be a bit of fun turned to horror for Bloomfield High School students on Wednesday.

Bloomfield police responded to a call that a student was hyperventilating at the Metropolitan Learning Center around 1.30 p.m. When they arrived at the school, the student was in a “stupor state,” wtnh.com reports.

The student told police he had eaten brownies containing marijuana and was taken to the Connecticut Children Medical Center, according to NBC Connecticut.

The hospitalized student told police he had bought the brownie from an 18-year-old senior, who was subsequently arrested along with two 16-year-olds believed to be accomplices.

The police believed that eight students had knowingly eaten the marijuana-laced brownies, but the students had been send home for the day according to the exam period schedule.

The school sent a letter to parents requesting “that you spend some time discussing this with your children at home to ensure that they understand the dangers involved with drugs.  We will continue to reiterate these messages at school” NBC Connecticut reports.

Investigations continue, and the police expect to make more arrests.
