Reports: Two Car Accidents Within Half Hour in Middletown Tie Up Traffic

Drivers are urged to avoid Route 66 and Butternut Street for a large crash involving a truck and sedan — and Interstate 91 north at Exits 20-21 for car on its roof.


A collision that resulted in a rollover on Washington Street, where it meets Butternut Street, in Middletown is tying up traffic in the area — as another accident

"An accident involving a white truck and a black sedan is currently surrounded by emergency vehicles," on Route 66 in Middletown near Butternut Street, according to Jen Alexander of the Middletown Eye. 

Police scanner reports indicate the crash took place at 6:15 p.m. and at least one of the occupants of a vehicle is trapped. 

Meanwhile, Middletown fire and police are responding to a second accident which took place just before 7 p.m., when they were alerted to an overturned auto on Interstate 91 north at exit 20-21. Scanner reports indicate a single car is on its roof.
