Silver Alert: West Hartford Police Asking for Assistance Finding Missing Man

West Hartford Police issued an alert Wednesday for the St. Mary Home resident who was last seen on Sunday morning.

West Hartford Police issued an alert Wednesday afternoon, asking for the public's assistance locating a resident of St. Mary Home who walked away from the facility undetected.

According to police, James Cyr, 38, left St. Mary Home at 2021 Albany Ave. at approximately 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Police say Cyr is a paranoid schizophrenic, and is without his medications. He believes that he is a priest, and police say he may be observed preaching. According to police, he also believes that the FBI and spirits are following him.

Police believe that he may gravitate towrd wooded areas because he believes the woods are safe. The last time he was missing, they said, he was found in a swamp near death.

Police say that Cyr currently has no money, credit cards or identification on him.

He is described as a white male approximately 5'7" tall, 170 lbs, with a beard and mustache, short brown hair and has one blue eye and one brown eye. He was last seen wearing a green T-shirt and blue jeans.
