Update: West Hartford Police Have Located Subject of Silver Alert

Raisa Shnitman has been located by West Hartford Police.

West Hartford Police have located Raisa Shnitman, the subject of this morning's Silver Alert. According to Capt. Jeff Rose, she was discovered near the intersection of Farmington Ave. and Walkley Rd.

Details about her condition were not available at this time, but Rose said an ambulance had been dispatched.

West Hartford Police have issued a Silver Alert for an elderly woman who wandered away from a Farmington Ave. apartment building early Thursday morning.

Raisa Shnitman, 88, was last seen at approximately 2 a.m. at 759 Farmington Ave. She is described by police as 5 feet tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes.

Shnitman was wearing a brown print shirt, blue pants, brown hat, and brown scarf.

According to police, she has dementia and speaks only Russian.
