This Week: Motor Vehicle Violations, Drug and DUI Charges

Police arrest log for May 16-22, 2011

West Hartford: Andrew Belt, 20, 147 Lawler Road, was charged with illegal possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and turn signals failure on May 16. Police said after a motor vehicle stop, he was found to be in possession of marijuana. Bond was set at $500.

503 New Park Avenue: Robert K. Peck, 58, 68 Iroquois Road, was charged with sixth-degree larceny on May 16. Police said he was caught shoplifting at Home Depot. Bond was set at $500.

Park Road/Ringold Street: Kevin P. Sutton, 44, 181 Oakwood Avenue Apt. A-3, was charged with illegal possession on May 16. Police said he was in possession of crack cocaine. Bond was set at $5,000.

New Britain Avenue/South Street: Crystal R. Watson, 30, 27 Renee Lane, Enfield, was charged with failure to display plate/sticker and possession of drug paraphernalia on May 17. Bond was set at $1,500.

215 Beechwood Road: Jason Buchanan, 26, 215 Beechwood Road, was charged with disorderly conduct on May 17. Police said he was heavily intoxicated when he got home, caused a disturbance and got into a physical altercation with his brother. Bond was set at $1,000.

103 Raymond Road: Raymond J. Richardson, 21, 1176 New Britain Avenue, was charged with second-degree breach of peace, second-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, two counts of injury/risk/impairing morals of a minor, and third-degree larceny on May 18. Police said he was arrested after confessing to a residential burglary that occurred on May 18. Bond was set at $100,000.

15 Kane Street: Felix Alvarez, 36, 560 Park Street, Hartford, was charged with sixth-degree larceny on May 18. Police said he was arrested for shoplifting from Rainbow Kids store. Bond was set at $2,500.

658 Flatbush Avenue: Rosinete Lopez, 44, 20 Harbison Avenue Apt. 20, Hartford, was turned over to the Hartford Police Department on May 18. Police said during a routine traffic stop, she was found to be wanted by Hartford Police. No bond was set.

103 Raymond Road: Eva Tarnawski, 33, 185 Village Square Drive Apt. 33, New Britain, was charged with second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an officer on May 18. Police said she turned herself in on an arrest warrant. No bond was set.

West Hartford: Deliza Mahon, 18, 124 Oakland Terrace, Hartford, was charged with sixth-degree larceny on May 18. Police said she was caught shoplifting a tie from Sears. Bond was set at $1,000.

West Hartford: Eller Jaramillo, 44, 94 Madison Avenue, Hartford, was charged with first-degree forgery on May 19. Police said he was found to be in possession of a forged Social Security card and possibly counterfeit $100 bills. Bond was set at $10,000.

40 Nesbit Avenue: John C. Sheff, 55, 40 Nesbit Avenue, was charged with second-degree breach of peace on May 19. Police said he fought in the street with his grandson. Bond was set at $1,000.

40 Nesbit Avenue: Bobby Clay, 19, 21 Westland Street, Hartford, was charged with second-degree breach of peace on May 19. Police said he was arrested for a physical altercation with his grandfather. Bond was set at $1,000.

103 Raymond Road: Felicia M. Turner, 21, 7 Ward Street, Vernon, was charged with second-degree failure to appear on May 19. Police said she turned herself in on a warrant. Bond was set at $2,000.

Fern Street/Prospect Avenue: Christopher Taveras, 20, 202 Terry Road, Hartford, was charged with driving in right-hand lane, illegal possession of marijuana, operating while under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia on May 20. Bond was set at $1,000.

103 Raymond Road: Alcides A. Ballestas, 19, 277 Whiting Lane, was charged with illegal possession of marijuana and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia on May 20. Police said that while assisting East Hartford Police with the execution of a search warrant of Ballestas’ residence, police discovered less than a half ounce of marijuana along with a digital scale and rolling papers. Ballestas was taken into custody by the EHPD to execute a search warrant of his person and later transported to the West Hartford Police Department to be booked on the drug charges. Bond was set at $1,000.

19 Vanderbilt Road: Deandre S. Coombs, 23, 261 Oakwood Avenue, was charged with criminal violation of a protective order, threatening, and first-degree violation of conditions of release on May 20. Police said during a suspicious vehicle investigation, Coombs was found to be in violation of a protective order. Bond was set at $1,000.

1 Fox Meadow Lane: Thomas S. Curran, 25, 441 Foote Road, South Glastonbury, was charged with nine counts of third-degree criminal mischief, evading responsibility, interfering with an officer and operating while under the influence on May 21. Police said he was arrested following multiple car accidents, where the driver was found to be intoxicated. Bond was set at $2,500.

581 Prospect Avenue: Charles Martin, 39, 90 Heron Road, Enfield, was charged with second-degree breach of peace, second-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct on May 21. Police said he was arrested for a domestic violence incident with his boyfriend at 577 Prospect Avenue and in the rear parking lot of the building. Bond was set at $2,500.

West Hartford: Arlene Morales, 18, 150 Tawny Thrush Road, Naugatuck, was charged with sixth-degree larceny on May 21. Police said she was arrested for shoplifting after being caught by a Sephora employee. Bond was set at $1,000.

West Hartford: Kenneth George Carpenter, 53, 417 East Street Apt. 1N, New Britain, was charged with failure to drive in proper lane, misuse of plate, operating with registration/license suspended/revoked, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating while under the influence on May 21. Bond was set at $2,500.

Park Road/Prospect Avenue: Christopher G. Condon, 42, 778 Trout Brook Drive Apt. 2, was charged with improper passing, operating while under the influence, unnecessary noise and unsafe movement/stopped car on May 21. Police said he was stopped for several motor vehicle violations and found to be intoxicated on alcohol. Bond was set at $5,000.

2542 Albany Avenue: Helen Conklin, 82, 14 Flagstad Road, was charged with operating while under the influence on May 21. Police said she was stopped in the parking lot of 2542 Albany Avenue on a DUI suspicion and failed field sobriety tests. Bond was set at $500.

78 Lasalle Road: Martin P. Kelley, 50, 949 West Blvd., Hartford, was charged with illegal possession of marijuana, operating while under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia on May 22. Police said he hit a pole behind the Bricco restaurant and was found to be under the influence. Bond was set at $5,000.

59 Regency Drive: Elizabeth N. Alzamora, 32, 59 Regency Drive, was charged with second-degree failure to appear on May 22. Bond was set at $2,000.
