Trees and Wires Down Throughout West Hartford

Major thunderstorm passed through town earlier, but all main roads are passable.

The severe thunderstorm which passed through West Hartford earlier this evening left trees and power lines littering side streets. According to the West Hartford Police Department, all main roads are open at this time.

Several houses were struck by lightning, but there are no fires currently reported according to police department reports.

The traffic lights on Albany Ave. are malfunctioning, and the signal at the intersection of Mohawk and North Main is not working.

According to CL&P, 220 customers were without power as of 7 p.m.
