West Hartford Firefighters Extricate Car Crash Victim

Two car accident happened on South Quaker Lane on Friday.

The responded on Friday to a two-car crash in which one of the cars rolled over and trapped the driver inside.

The fire department said in a news release that it got a call at 11:21 a.m. Friday that an accident had happened at South Quaker Lane and St. James Street.

A Black Chevy Sonic had rolled over on its side and came to a rest on the sidewalk. The driver was injured and had to be extricated by using special struts and cutting the roof open, the fire department said. The entire process took 14 minutes.

The driver was placed on a long board to stabilize his spine and taken to the hospital, the release said. Two other people — including someone in the other car and a pedestrian — were taken to the hospital as well.
