West Hartford Firefighters Knock Down Park Road Fire [Updated]

Park Road has reopened.

West Hartford firefighters knocked down an oven fire on Park Road on Friday evening. No injuries were reported in the fire, which took place at a residence at 382 Park Road.

The fire did not appear to have caused serious damage to the home and was put out quickly. No one on the first or second floor of the two-family home was displaced.

According to Battalion Chief Richard Winn, the small blaze began when plastics stores in the oven caught fire. There was a lot of smoke when firefighters responded, but the fire was contained to the oven, Winn said.

The call came in at 4:23 p.m.

Park Road was closed between Jessamine Street and South Quaker Lane for a little more than a half an hour but has since reopened.
