West Hartford Man Caught in Glastonbury Heroin Bust

Apprehension was part of a surveillance operation by the East Central Narcotics Task Force.

Dennis Santiago, 20, of 86 Hillsboro Dr., West Hartford, was apprehended in the parking lot of a 7 Eleven Store at 3041 Main St., Glastonbury, according to a release received from the East Central Narcotics Task Force.

Santiago has been charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to sell.

According the release, members of the East Central Narcotics Task Force were conducting a surveillance operation in the 7 Eleven Parking lot at approximately 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. They were acting on information received that a Hispanic male, with the street name "Den," would be arriving in the parking lot in a red Maxima to sell heroin.

"Den," who was later identified as Dennis Santiago, was detained when he arrived in the parking lot and taken into custody without incident, police said.

According to police, 91 bags of heroin were seized from the vehicle.

Police said that Santiago is currently on probation for assault in the State of Connecticut.

Sanitago is being held on $100,000 surety bond.

The East Central Narcotics Task Force, in cooperation with other municipal, and federal law enforcement agencies, is interested in stopping illegal narcotics sales and use in the Manchester, South Windsor, and Glastonbury communities.  Anyone with information pertaining to any illicit drug activity is asked to contact the East Central Narcotics Task Force at (860) 645-5548.  All calls will remain confidential.
