West Hartford Man Killed in Weekend Crash

Two passengers were also seriously injured in the head-on crash on Route 189 in Bloomfield.

A West Hartford man was killed in a head-on collision in Bloomfield early Saturday morning, and his passenger and the other driver were hospitalized according to a news release from the Bloomfield Police Department.

According to police, Andrew Feiner, 24, of West Hartford, was driving a Chevrolet Impala on Route 189 in Bloomfield, just south of the Simsbury town line. Police said Feiner was driving north, in the southbound lane.

At approximately 3:50 a.m. Saturday, police said, Feiner's vehicle struck a GMC Sonoma driven by 61-year-old Richard Heacox.

Feiner was pronounced dead, police said. His passenger, Katherine Foy, 23, was seriously injured and transported to St. Francis Hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Heacox sustained a broken leg, police said, and was also transported to St. Francis by ambulance.

A spokesman for Bloomfield Police said Monday that no additional information is available at this time.

Bloomfield Police and the North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad are investigating.
