Woman Shops While Children Sit in Hot Car, West Hartford Police Say

Alvarez accused of leaving two children unattended in car while she was inside Sears for 20 minutes.

West Hartford police arrested Evelyn A. Alvarez, 33, of East Hartford, after she allegedly left two children under the age of 12 alone in her car on Saturday.

Alvarez, of 79 Sunnyreach Dr., was charged with leaving a child unattended in a public place, according to wfsb.com.

She is accused of leaving the children inside the car at 1445 New Britain Ave. in West Hartford while she went inside Sears for about 20 minutes, according to wfsb.com.

Alvarez is scheduled to appear in court on July 24.
