West Hartford Police Charge Man in Connection With Jewelry Theft

Thomas Keane, 55, of South Boston, was charged with first degree larceny and conspiracy to commit first degree larceny.

A Massachusetts man wanted in connection with the theft of rings from a West Hartford Center jeweler in April 2012 was extradited from the Billerca House of Corrections in Massachusetts last week.

Thomas Keane, 55, of South Boston, MA, was charged on Aug. 19 with first-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny.

Bond was set at $150,000 and subsequently increased to $300,000 when he appeared in Superior Court on Aug. 29.

Keane allegedly walked into the jeweler on April 14, 2012, broke a display case and stole a number of rings.

He is scheduled to appear in court again on Sept. 11.
