West Hartford Police Charge Man in Connection with Mountain Road Accident

Zachary Abrahms, 25, was charged on Thursday.

West Hartford police have charged a man in connection with the Thursday-morning motor-vehicle accident in which a utility pole on Mountain Road was knocked down.

The one-vehicle accident, which took place around 1:30 a.m., shut down the thoroughfare for over 8 hours, as utility crews replaced the pole and restored service.

Zachary J. Abrahms, 25, of Hartford, was charged with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol and evading responsibility.

Abrahms, who was the driver of the vehicle, allegedly fled the scene after the accident and was brought into custody in Bloomfield, according to police.

He was released on $15,000 bond, according to the Connecticut Judicial website. Abrahms is scheduled to appear in Superior Court on Oct. 3.
