West Hartford Police Recover Large Amount of Heroin After Motor Vehicle Stop

Two New Hampshire men admitted to regularly buying heroin in Connecticut and reselling it in New Hampshire at a significant profit.

West Hartford Police recovered 368 bags of heroin, suboxone, and drug paraphernalia when they stopped a Chevy Cruz with New Hampshire plates for failure to signal, turning what began as a routine traffic stop into narcotics charges.

Police said they stopped the vehicle at 456 New Park Ave. at approximately 2:15 p.m. Thursday, and observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. The driver, Seth McKean, 26, of 75 Willis Ave North Haverhill, NH, was observed hiding something under the driver's seat.

According to a police report, further investigation revealed the 368 bags of heroin as well as the suboxone and drug paraphernalia.

Police said that both the driver and a male passenger, Harvey Ricker, 34, also of 75 Willis Ave., North Haverhill, NH, admitted to coming to Connecticut regularly from New Hampshire to buy heroin which they then resell for approximately 3.5 times the price. According to the police report, the men purchased the heroin for approximately $1,472 and could resell it in New Hampshire for approximately $5,152.

Both McKean and Ricker have been charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia. McKean was also charged with interfering with an officer and failure to signal a turn. Both were held on $100,000 bond.

A female passenger, Meaghan Emerson, 22, who also has an address of 75 Willis Ave., North Haverhill, NH, was charged with two counts of possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to keep prescription drugs in the original container. She was held on $30,000 bond.

Police also seized the Chevy Cruz.
