West Hartford Police Respond to Auburn Road Burglary

Second such burglary in the area in the last week.

West Hartford Police on Wednesday evening responded to an incident on Auburn Road in which a resident reported that he had heard a noise upstairs while he and his wife were watching television downstairs.

According to a press release, police responded to a call at 10:45 p.m. and determined that someone had entered the home and that jewelry was missing from the master bedroom, according to the release.

The burglar entered through an unlocked front door, according to the release. The resident said there was approximately a one-hour delay in notifying the police and the resident did not immediately check the upstairs upon hearing the noise, police said.
