West Hartford Police Seeking Suspect in Bank Robbery

Suspect robbed People's United Bank on North Main St. this morning and was last seen walking east on Albany Ave.

West Hartford Police are seeking a suspect in a robbery of the People's United Bank at 714 North Main St. in Bishops Corner.

Lt. Jeff Rose of the West Hartford Police Department said that the robbery was reported at 10:49 a.m.

The suspect is described by police as a black male, in his 40s, approximately 5'10", wearing glasses and an orange Milwaukee Brewers baseball cap. He was last seen walking east on Albany Ave. from Bishops Corner, police said.

According to police, the suspect handed the teller a note asking for money and indicating that he had a gun. Police said that no weapon was shown, and there were no injuries.

The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
