Police have recently seen occurrences of car break-ins in one particular area in West Hartford, and are urging residents and visitors to keep their car doors locked at all times.
"Don't leave your personal items — cell phones, pocketbooks, laptops — sitting on the front seat of the car with the doors unlocked," said West Hartford Police Lt. Ted. J. Stoneburner. "It's tempts a crime of opportunity."
Stoneburner said the police department sent out a message via phone, letting people know to lock car doors, especially near the following streets:
- 830 Farmington Ave.
- Auburn Road
- Park Road
- Trout Brook Drive
- Maplewood Avenue
- Park Road
- Warrenton Avenue
- Bretton Road
- Arnold Way
- Robin Road
