Have Storm Damage? Insurance Information Available

Connecticut Insurance Department releases information for those affected by the storm and outages.

The Connecticut Insurance Department is moving quickly to make critical information available to homeowners affected by the recent snowstorm — online and in person.

Connecticut Insurance Commissioner Thomas B. Leonardi announced on Thursday that the department has updated its Winter Storm Resource web page with locations of insurance company claims vans. Travelers Claims Van will be in Bloomfield in the Lowe’s parking lot at 325 Cottage Grove Road.

Also included in the information posted today are industry bulletins that address:

  • Promptness of service and payment
  • Extending grace periods for premium payments
  • Ensuring policyholders have unobstructed access to medical care, including prescription drugs, should they not have their insurance information with them because they are displaced or without it for other reasons as a result of the storm

Connecticut's Insurance Department said the special web page will be updated regularly with important resources for policyholders to assist them in the claims process in the wake of the damaging snow storm.
