Primary Results: West Hartford Republicans Support Romney in Presidential Primary

Despite low voter turnout, Republican voters in West Hartford chose the Republican frontrunner as he looked to win all of the state's 25 delegates.

Tuesday's Republican Presidential primary produced light voter turnout throughout West Hartford, with frontrunner candidate Mitt Romney receiving approximately 75 percent of the vote.

Less than 16 percent of registered Republicans voted in the primary, which was the first election to utilize West Hartford's new system of polling places. Republican Registrar of Voters Eleanor Brazell reported that the transition went smoothly, and said, "People have been pretty accepting of the changes."

Late Tuesday afternoon West Hartford Town Hall, the polling location for 3rd district voters, was empty except for the workers. "The busiest we've been is four people at once," said worker Joel Huntington.
