Senate Hopefuls Murphy, McMahon, Pull Ahead in Q Poll

The new Quinnipiac poll gives a better picture of the two front runners in party primaries for the U.S. Senate seat.

Republican and Democrat are the clear front runners for their parties' endorsements to seek election to Connecticut's open U.S. Senate seat this fall.

McMahon has a 29-percentage point lead on her Republican rival, , and Murphy has an even larger lead, 30 percentage points, over his Democratic Rival, . McMahon was endorsed by Republicans in a party convention last month, as was Murphy.

The poll also shows McMahon gaining on Murphy in the general election matchup.

Both McMahon and Murphy will face off in primaries against their party opponents later this summer.

The latest Q poll results indicate that Shays' main pitch to Republicans, that he would do better than McMahon in the general election, does not hold water, according to this political analysis in the Hartford Courant.

The time is at hand in other words right now Chris Shay's should step down and let Linda McMahon work on democratic candidates for U.S. Senate it very hard in a blue state to be elected to the U.S. Senate since lowell Weicker and his gang Peter Gold, Ric Orlock (from Simsbury)and Tom De Mor gave Connecticut a State income tax and the good job paying companies left the State since the state income taxes they gave us things have not been right since one thing going that she going for her is that the Fifth Congressional district democratic candidate for congress is dirty in his taking money from his state lobby and that the feds have the good on him if it were the State of Connecticut People Governor Malloy will cover it up like he did on the state senator Daly land swap this must have gone on threw the years at the Connecticut state house .... Good luck Ms McMahon it time to balance the Senators from Connecticut One democratic and one Republican a good woman Connecticut has not seen one since Governor Grosso time for a change in the senators from Connecticut in the U.S. Senate In connecticut it time to elect a woman to the U.S.Senate

Once again Linda McMahon will try to buy the election, and if she wins the primary in August, will again lose in the general election. Unfortunately, this state is too liberal to elect a candidate like her. The only person who has a shot at beating Chris Murphy in November is Christopher Shays, a moderate Republican with significant applicable experience. Unless you want another liberal Democrat to represent this state in the U.S. Senate, vote Christopher Shays in the August primary.

And check out what John McCain has to say about Christopher Shays. (Link below.) http://www.shaysforussenate.com/mccain-confident-in-shays-for-u-s-senate/

If we had term limits, all of these comments would not be happening. The way I look at it, Murphy and Shays have been around CT poloitics for too long and it is time too bring in new blood. Linda has my vote and confidence because she is a real person. All the liberals, making comments that her money is trying to buy her the election, are forgetting the fact that the unions in this state are always using the pool of money from Union workers' dues to fund their choice of candidates.
